The Older Persons Community Mental Health Team are seeking a Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our team in the lovely city on the Murray River, Swan Hill. The successful applicant will require a strong desire to provide independent comprehensive assessments and risk assessments as well as recovery focussed care planning and therapeutic interventions for older adults, 65+ in age with serious mental health issues.  The Team Our mental health services cover a broad geographic region across Victoria.  As well as providing inpatient and community based older person's mental health services in Bendigo, we also have community based teams located in five regional areas - Castlemaine, Kyneton, Maryborough, Echuca and Swan Hill.   The multi-disciplinary team in Swan Hill provides care to persons living in their communities experiencing mental illness aged 65years+. Treatment and support is recovery focused and provided during all stages of illness. Essential : Bachelor of Nursing, Social Work or Bachelor of Applied Science plus post graduate qualifications in Occupational Therapy and; Post Graduate diploma in mental health and/or related field. Essential : Extensive work experience, at least 5 years and expertise in community based psychiatric triage, assessment, support and treatment of people with a mental illness and associated complex issues. Essential : Extensive experience working with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and knowledge of the relevant state-wide Psychiatric Service Frameworks Procedures and Guidelines and Bendigo Health policy and procedures. Essential : Extensive experience in, and demonstrated commitment to, an integrated community-based treatment model for people with a mental illness and associated complex issues. Essential : Extensive experience in liaising and consulting with relevant family members, team members, and a broad range of health professionals and community agencies Essential : Demonstrated evidence of participation in education and training to other staff, and commitment to ongoing professional development Essential : High level of organisational, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills Essential : Ability to work independently as well as to work as part of a team. Desirable : Knowledge of Quality Improvement and flexibility to operate in an environment of change and continuous improvements.
