Mental Health Registered Nurse – Community or InpatientsMARS Recruitment are seeking dedicated and experienced Mental Health Registered Nurses for travel contracts in NSW.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in Mental Health Services (AMHS), Clozapine management, and Care Coordination. You will play a critical role in providing patient-centered care to individuals with complex mental health needs, working collaboratively with a range of healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Position one: The Mental Health Community RN will support individuals of all ages with complex mental health needs, including co-existing physical conditions, substance use, and social challenges, providing care in homes, clinics, or community settings.
Position two: The Acute Mental Health RN will assess, monitor, and support patients with complex mental health needs in an inpatient setting. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalised care plans, manage medications, and ensure a safe environment for all patients. Your work will be critical in stabilising patients and helping them transition to ongoing care.
Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients within the Acute Mental Health Services (AMHS) setting, ensuring safe and effective delivery of care.Administer and manage Clozapine treatment, including monitoring patients for side effects, performing regular blood tests, and adjusting care plans as necessary.Act as a care coordinator for patients with complex mental health needs, working with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and participate in treatment planning and review processes.Advocate for patients and ensure that care is culturally sensitive and aligned with best practices.Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and legal requirements.Engage in professional development opportunities to keep up to date with best practices in mental health care.Accommodation is provided in motels local to site.Community Mental Health RN role requires candidates with access to a vehicle, to travel from the accommodation to the facility.Travel provided - fuel reimbursement per KM/ Flights/ Train/ Bus.If you have read this far and are available, we need the following: Unrestricted AHPRA registrationFull working rights in Australia (we cannot grant any visa/sponsorship for temporary roles)Credentialed Bachelor of Nursing Degree with mental health qualifications.NSW WWCC (or willing to obtain)Minimum 2 years postgraduate experienceCar and DL - case by case can consider those without a car.Is this contract right for you? Whether you choose to do 12 weeks or 13 weeks, your role is crucial for providing care, support, and treatment to those with mental challenges. You will be required to develop a level of trust and rapport with your clients, whilst providing emotional support and monitoring patients' wellbeing, also educating family members about ongoing treatment plans and guidance.
