Mental Health Professional - KATHERINE, NT based positionAbout UsWurli-Wurlinjang Health Service (WWHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that prides itself on delivering a range of health services to the community in a style and manner that makes clients feel welcome and comfortable.WWHS operates a range of clinics and provides a range of primary health care and other services, which include our Main Clinic (acute and general care), Gudbinji Chronic Disease Clinic, Binjari Health Centre, Women and Children's Health and Men's Health.We also deliver Community Service programs which aim to achieve better outcomes in early intervention, treatment and management through an integrated approach in a primary health care setting like our Alcohol and Other Drugs Program, Social and Emotional Wellbeing program, Katherine Individual Support Program and our Strong Indigenous Families program.The role of the Mental Health Professional is to manage the delivery of primary clinical mental health service in a manner that aligns with the purpose of MHSRRA and in accordance with the program guidelines and community/client needs to improve outcomes for clients with or at risk of mental illness and/or suicide. The role requires the delivery of a high level of mental health services to clients and is responsible for actively contributing to the delivery of culturally appropriate social and wellbeing activities that incorporate community development, engagement and clinical components.Ideally we are seeking candidates with the following:Relevant degree in Nursing, Psychology etc.Minimum of 5 years' experience in the provision of mental health assessment, treatment and rehabilitation methods.AHPRA Registration (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority) – Mental Health Nurse / Psychology or Social Worker with registration to practice as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist or eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.National Police Records Check and Working with Children's Clearance.Current Northern Territory Driver's License.This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a role within a client focused, passionate and expanding organisation.Wurli Wurlinjang Health Service offers a supportive and team-orientated work environment.
