Wurli in partnership with PHN NT is a provider of Mental Health Services in Rural and Remote Areas (MHSRRA) Program, in Katherine (an Australian Government initiative for the provision of short-term evidence based mental health services for people living in rural and remote areas with mental illness).
This program is part of the Wurli Social and Emotional Wellbeing portfolio and the team aims to achieve better outcomes in early intervention, treatment and management of mental health and alcohol and drug issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through an integrated approach in a primary health care setting.
The role of the Mental Health Professional is to manage the delivery of primary clinical mental health service in a manner that aligns with the purpose of MHSRRA and in accordance with the program guidelines and community / client needs to improve outcomes for clients with or at risk of mental illness and / or suicide.
The role requires the delivery of a high level of mental health services to clients and is responsible for actively contributing to the delivery of culturally appropriate social and wellbeing activities that incorporate community development, engagement and clinical components.
Ideally we are seeking candidates with the followingRelevant degree in Nursing, Psychology etc.Minimum of 5 years' experience in the provision of mental health assessment, treatment and rehabilitation methodsAHPRA Registration (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority) – Mental Health Nurse / Psychology or Social Worker with registration to practice as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist or eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.National Police Records Check and Working with Children's ClearanceCurrent Northern Territory Driver's LicenseFor more information regarding the position specifics please review the Position Profile.
