Take advantage of novated leasing a new car!Relocation assistance and accommodation support considerationsAbout the Role: The Mental Health Emergency Consultation Service (MHECS) is an acute mental health service that provides emergency consultation and assessment for people in our community.
The MHECS team is a multidisciplinary team of experienced mental health clinicians who assist, support, and guide the emergency department clinicians in 32 hospitals across MLHD in managing mental health consumers' risk, medications, and plans for ongoing care.
The MHECS Clinician is responsible for coordinating and delivering consultations, assessments, and support services to persons (including their family and/or carers) who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis in the MLHD.
Key Responsibilities: Consumer Consultation and Support: Provide Mental Health consultations and assessments for consumers presenting to our facilities who are referred to the MHECS.Clinical Leadership: Provide leadership through modelling a high standard of professional and interpersonal skills, attitudes, and behaviours; assist in allocating workloads and work through complex mental health presentations.Build and Maintain Relationships: The capacity to work and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders.Work Independently: Operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision; exercise independent professional judgement when required in solving problems and managing cases.Key Requirements: Demonstrated 5 years' experience in mental health as a Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist, or other qualification recognised under the Health Professionals Award.
