Relocation assistance and accommodation support considerations The Mental Health Emergency Consultation Service (MHECS) is an acute mental health service that provides emergency consultation and assessment for people in our community. TMHECS team is a multidisciplinary team of experienced mental health clinicians who assists support and guide the emergency department clinicians in 32 hospitals across MLHD in managing mental health consumers risk, medications and plans for ongoing care. The MHECS Clinician is responsible for coordinating and delivering consultations, assessments and support services to persons (including their family, and/or carers) who are experiencing acute mental health crisis in the MLHD. Key Responsibilities: Consumer Consultation and Support: Provide Mental Health consultations and assessments for consumers presenting to our facilities who are referred to the MHECS. Clinical Leadership: Provide leadership through modelling a high standard of professional and interpersonal skills, attitudes and behaviours; Assist in allocating workloads and work through complex mental health presentations. Build and Maintain Relationships: the capacity to work and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Work Independently: operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision; exercise independent professional judgement when required in solving problems and managing cases. Key Requirements: Demonstrated 5 years' experience in mental health as a Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist, or other qualification recognised under the Health Professionals Award. Current Registration with AHPRA (RN's, Psychologists & OT's) or eligibility for membership of the relevant peak body. Post graduate qualifications relevant to Mental Health or working towards. Demonstrated extensive understanding and experience in the application of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007; forensic provisions as well national and state mental health initiatives and strategic directions.
