Provide comprehensive specialized Psychogeriatric mental health assessments, short term coordinated engagement with older persons who meet the established criteria for Older Persons Mental Health Services (OPMHS). Provide psycho-geriatric consultancy, education and community outreach services to Queensland Health and other relevant aged care or mental health care providers within Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) and maintain consultation and liaison services within the northern area as negotiated. Work collaboratively with consumers and multidisciplinary professionals to provide clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and wellbeing of consumers and carers. Applications are being sought from candidates with either Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work qualification. Role Requirements
Nursing: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a required qualification for this position HP: Requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties. This position may be required to travel across mental health service sites within the Townsville Health Service district including Ingham, Burdekin and Charters Towers and surrounds. This position requires the incumbent to operate a class "C" motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty. This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
