Upon completion of the initial Mental Health Assessment, the successful candidate will then provide a case management and intervention service to support our consumers achieve health and lifestyle goals and support their family and carers throughout this journey.The Manning Community Mental Health Team provides mental health services to Bulahdelah, Gloucester, Forster and Taree, located on the Lower Mid North Coast.About the role:As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide efficient and effective assessment and care coordination services for people experiencing mental health concerns and their families and carers. This community-based position will require you to provide intervention and consultation to adult clients between 18 and 65 years of age. You will take charge and case manage clients within the Manning Valley that clients receive quality person-centred care whilst working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.This position is graded as up to an Occupational Therapist Level 3, Social Worker Level 3, Psychologist and Registered Nurse. Graduates from the Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health (Djirruwang Program) may be appointed as a Counsellor Level 3.This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.The dynamic, multidisciplinary team is supported by the Clinical Care Coordinator with clinical supervision available and encouraged to support your professional development and career growth.About you:The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and experience within a mental health setting and the ability to take charge and case manage clients within the Manning valley and surrounding areas. You will also have the ability to assess risk and perform mental state examinations.
