About the Mental Health Division
The Mental Health Division is committed to promoting the highest levels of mental health care for our patients. In realizing this goal, the division will lead and excel in research, teaching, and the use of person-centered evidence-based practice. The mental health division provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the role
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals who are passionate about providing best practice care for infants, children, and families experiencing mental health difficulties. You will have access to specialist clinicians across ICYMHS, which includes an Infant and Child Specialist, a Family Violence Specialist, and an AOD Practice Lead, among others.
You'll enjoy our continuing education and quality improvement strategy, developed through leadership forums and committees. You'll join a friendly, enthusiastic, and supportive team who genuinely enjoy their work and the contributions they make. If you are passionate and have some experience in the child and youth mental health sector or related fields, and enjoy shaping and managing services for children, young people, and their families, we are keen for you to join us!
A regular day will see you: Provide case management to infants and children referred to the service.Undertake assessment and treatment (which can include family, individual, parent therapy, and group work).Facilitate and plan groups for children and/or their parents.Liaise and network with the service system.About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You'll bring energy and drive to your work and will have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
You'll further have: A relevant qualification and current AHPRA registration.The ability to provide treatment to address a wide variety of mental health presentations in infants and children.The desire to work collaboratively and systemically as part of a multidisciplinary team.Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose and engaging in meaningful work every day.
