Psychology, Counselling & Social Work (Healthcare & Medical)Contract/TempRichmond Futures provide evidence-based counselling and mental health interventions to participants in Aged Care facilities who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns, using a person-centred approach while respecting the lifetime experience of each participant.What you will love about the Agewise Program:Working with older adults across a broad spectrum of the community and listening to their stories.Supporting older adults to be empowered at a very uncertain time in their lives through practical strategies, skills, and evidence-based counselling interventions.Assist older adults to make meaning and sense of their life experiences with a focus on strengths and values.Opportunity to deepen and hone your craft as a counsellor and mental health clinician as you apply and adapt your skills and training to support elders in our community.Broaden your understanding of working with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, historical trauma and abuse, life transitions and adjustment disorders, health diagnosis and loss of independence, family relationships, and interpersonal challenges.Why work with us:Your participant case load is capped at a maximum of three per day and has you out and about on the road and in the community.You will work in a multidisciplinary team of great people who are passionate about clinical excellence, supporting participants, and promoting mental health and wellbeing.You will be joining an inclusive team of friendly and social clinicians, who value and prioritise self-care, occasionally enjoying social get-togethers, working lunches on the road, and sharing knowledge.You will be working for a values-based organisation that recognises the importance of their people, be it participants, staff, or stakeholders.Support to tailor your specific interest areas within your caseload and be mentored to apply your existing counselling skills with the older adult cohort.Remuneration as per the Health Professionals and Support Services Award.Not-for-profit salary packaging, significantly reducing your taxable income.Minimum Requirements:Registered Counsellor (holding a registration with a relevant association).Psychologist (holding provisional or general registration).Mental health nurse (credentialed or working towards credentialling).Mental health social worker (credentialed or working towards credentialling).Previous experience working in a mental health setting providing direct consumer counselling and therapeutic interventions.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, plan and manage own calendar and manage own time according to priority.Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidence-based theory, comprehensive assessment and tools, and care planning.Demonstrated ability to network and create positive professional relationships.Experience working with adults in a mental health setting.Facilitating and delivering groups with a therapeutic outcome.Qualifications in Aged Care or Gerontology highly regarded.Previous experience in service development and promotion.Skills in Microsoft Office suite of programs.Experience:Ability to manage a demanding workload and manage own time according to priority.Demonstrated skills in comprehensive assessment, care planning, and counselling.Our Culture:At Richmond Futures we have a strong focus on our values and providing a high-quality service.
