Cornerstone Medical Recruitment – Broome WAPosition Type: Casual/TemporaryJob Posting Date: 4 months agoOn behalf of our client in Northern WA, we are seeking a Mental Health Clinician with AOD counselling experience for a 12-week Locum contract with potential for extension.
The role involves providing assessment, treatment, case management, and referral of clients aged 14 years and over, who are seeking support with alcohol and other drug problems.
You will be responsible for delivering and developing AOD prevention, diversion, and treatment programs within the community.Key ResponsibilitiesProviding assessment, treatment, case management, and referral of clients aged 14 years and over, and their families, parents, and significant others, who are seeking support with alcohol and other drug (AOD) problems.Developing and delivering community alcohol and drug treatment programs.Responsible for delivering AOD prevention and diversion programs such as the Cannabis Diversion Program and Alcohol Interlock Scheme.Offering support to other human service providers in the management of substance use issues.Facilitating coordinated care in partnership with NWMHS and other human service providers.Maintaining clinical documentation on client treatment.Participating in multi-disciplinary case conferences and team meetings.Ascertaining needs in relation to substance use issues with community organisations and human service providers and implementing support services and prevention activities to meet those needs.Liaising with other human service providers and relevant groups to assist regional co-ordination of drug strategy.Responding to relevant community requests and facilitating community access to resources as they relate to substance use issues.Supervision of trainee staff and students on placements as required.About YouDemonstrated experience in the comprehensive management and counselling of individuals, families, and communities with alcohol and drug-related issues.Clear and concise knowledge, understanding, and experience of Aboriginal culture and working with Aboriginal people impacted by mental health conditions in relation to substance use.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of working within the harm minimisation framework.Understanding of the related practical and emotional issues of working with Aboriginal consumers with comorbidity mental health/alcohol and drug disorders and unresolved trauma.Experience in community service development, education, and prevention in relation to substance use issues.High level interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with Aboriginal consumers and their family members who engage with mental health services.Current C or C-A Class driver's licence or other specialised licence.Remuneration: up to $65 p/h + Super | Travel allowance + Accommodation providedIf this sounds like something of interest, please get in touch: Ross Jenkins | Executive Consultant, Social Care Team.You can simply 'Apply Now' or Email: Your CV to ****** / Call: 0734975***#J-18808-Ljbffr
