About us headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Nowra work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people. Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Nowra. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT. About the position The Mental Health Clinician works collaboratively with a young person and their family/carers to identify support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. They provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused interventions. This position requires working closely with the other members of the headspace Nowra team, Ulladulla Outreach team and external service providers and works to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to headspace Nowra, providing a service in the Ulladulla area. Based in Ulladulla, this position is part time (16 hours per week), fixed term to 30 June 2025 with the possibility for extension. We are looking for someone with: You will have a passion and experience in working with young people and: Current or working towards full AHPRA registration as a psychologist, clinical psychologist, or occupational therapist (accredited in mental health) or qualifications in social work and eligibility to work towards accreditation with the AASW as a mental health social worker Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, provision of Cognitive- Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies. Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.
