The Acute Care Team at the Mackay Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a Mental Health Clinician (Occupational Therapist or Psychologist or Social Worker or Clinical Nurse) to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your opportunity The Mental Health Clinician (Health Practitioner or Clinical Nurse) provides clinical skills to ensure patient, recovery-focused and evidence-based care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care within a multidisciplinary team within the Division of Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service.The position will be based in Mackay as part of the Acute Care Team and will:Provide Intake/triage, assessment and crisis management functions as part of the Mackay Division of Mental Health Acute Care Team and will work a varied roster 7 days a week with RDO accrual. The position works all shifts (morning, afternoon and night).Provide a competent standard of clinical care through the provision of specialist triage/intake, assessment and short-term crisis care services to persons who suffer from a mental disorder within the Mackay Integrated Mental Health Network.Provide an evidence-based standard of care by providing individual and holistic care, giving due consideration to the needs of the client, relatives and carers for the assessment, treatment, maintenance and support of people with mental health conditions.Effectively liaise, network and facilitate an integrated approach that is recovery-focused, evidence-based across the continuum of care.Initiate and actively participate in quality improvement projects that facilitate the review and evaluation of the target service and associated processes.About our Hospital and Health Service Mackay Hospital and Health Service ( https://www.mackay.health.qld.gov.au/ ) has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff.
