The RoleAn opportunity has become available for several Occupational Therapists/Psychologists/Social Workers (Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will: Provide provision of care delivery in a variety of hospital and community settings.Apply professional knowledge and skills in clinical decision making under the practice supervision.Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation with the support of senior clinical staff.Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue.About youTo be successful in this position you will require:
A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work.AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist and Psychologist only).Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only).While not mandatory, post-graduate qualifications in health services management or equivalent would be well regarded.Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost).About UsThe Acute Care Treatment Team (ACT) provide 24 hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care service. This team's role is to be the first point of contact for the GCHHS Mental Health Service to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. ACT is a mobile assertive outreach crisis response team that offers a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs in the community which may also include acute care in the immediate post discharge phase of an inpatient admission.
