About the role Grampians Health - Mental Health Services is a dynamic Area Mental Health Service striving to provide the highest standards of treatment for the region of Ballarat and Grampians region, while maintaining a commitment to a continuously improving clinical environment.
We currently have an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in our community, inpatient and consultation liaison teams.
Our community psychiatric service provides contemporary best practice, evidence-based, family-inclusive services to its clients and their families, utilising a multidisciplinary team framework and an integrated model of care.
The Consultant Psychiatrist is an integral and active member of this multidisciplinary framework.
The Consultant Psychiatrist will be responsible for mental health services in the designated work area.
Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for the clinical leadership of the team Work closely with other senior members of the clinical leadership team to plan, deliver and evaluate services and programs to meet the needs of patients and their families.
There is potential to be involved in research and you will be working within a supportive clinical context and environment.
Skills and Experience To be registered as a medical practitioner by the Medical Board of Australia and to be a Fellow of the RANZCP or possess qualifications recognised as equivalent.
Desirable Proven ability to plan, deliver and evaluate services and programs to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Proven ability to give clinical leadership to staff and to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated clinical competence at ma senior level and adequate experience in the field of psychiatry after obtaining post graduate qualifications.
