Job Title: Melt Pour Leader Location: Youngtown, TAS 7249 Employment Type: Full-Time Working Hours: 06:00 – 14:30, or as practically required Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for foundry operations and a knack for leadership?
Castings Tasmania is seeking a Melt Pour Leader to oversee our melt pour operations at our foundry in Youngtown.
About the Role: As the Melt Pour Leader, you will be at the helm of our melt and pour division, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all processes.
You will lead a skilled team, manage production goals, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in foundry operations who is ready to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of melt pour operators and technicians.
Drive operational excellence by optimising melting and pouring processes.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental standards.
Recruit, train, and develop team members to create a high-performing team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and collaboration.
Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
About You: Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 5 years of experience in foundry operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of melting and pouring processes and foundry safety practices.
Proven experience in team leadership, recruitment, and performance management.
Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
