The Trustee for Marquee Hotel Operations Pty Ltd trading as The Sofitel Brisbane Central is centrally located within the heart of Brisbane city. 416 elegantly appointed rooms and suites are complemented by the finest personal luxuries to make this one of Brisbane's best accommodation experiences. The hotel features various F&B outlets, two fitness centres, Day Spa and fully flexible event spaces for up to 1100 delegates.
Job Description:In this full-time role, you will organise and coordinate services for conferences, events, functions, banquets, and seminars at Sofitel Brisbane Central. This includes:
Promote conferences and events to potential customersRespond to enquiries and provide costing regarding conferences and eventsMeet with clients to discuss their needs, conduct site inspections and outline package optionsRegular client contact and correspondence to ensure successful coordination of the eventPrepare event orders, action plans, and other relevant paperwork to effectively communicate client needsArrange and coordinate services, such as conference facilities, catering, signage, displays, audiovisual equipment, accommodation, transport and social events for conference and events participantsOrganise registration of conference and events groups and participantsMaximise conference and event space revenue by negotiating with clients to determine the type and costs of services to be provided within budgetUnderstand revenue budgets, forecasts and what business can be regarded as confirmedOversee work by contractors associated with the conference or event to ensure services are delivered in accordance with agreementMaintain high standards in presentation, consistency, accuracy and attention to detail with all responsibilities.Qualifications:A relevant Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma or at least three years equivalent experience in a similar positionExperience in leading others and developing a high performing teamHighly motivated and driven to succeedExcellent collaboration skills and an ability to work independently and unsupervisedGuest focused and committed to providing exceptional service at all timesHighly responsible and reliable, achieving tasks efficiently, accurately and promptlyExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsOutstanding personal presentation and style, aligned with the Sofitel luxury brand.Additional Information:Bring passion and dedication to excellence, and we will recognise your contribution with a variety of benefits, rewards and development opportunities.
