About The Role :
You will evaluate patients to determine their eligibility for medicinal cannabis treatment, prescribe treatments, renew prescriptions as needed, and educate patients on the benefits and proper usage of medicinal cannabis. You'll work closely with our Clinical Nursing Manager and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
What you will do:
Evaluate patients based on their medical history, symptoms, and conditions to determine eligibility for medicinal cannabis treatment.
Prescribe medicinal cannabis tailored to each patient's treatment plan.
Renew patients' prescriptions when required.
Collaborate with the Clinical Nursing Manager and the Dispensed nursing team.
Educate patients on the benefits, risks, and proper usage of medicinal cannabis.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Who you are:
Authorised Prescriber (AP) status for Medicinal Cannabis.
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and capability to prescribe Schedule 8 medication.
Proven experience as an Authorised Prescriber for medicinal cannabis.
In-depth understanding of prescribing medicinal cannabis treatment and associated conditions.
Knowledge of the regulatory landscape for medicinal cannabis in Australia.
Prior experience working from home is preferred.

Strong understanding of the endocannabinoid system, cannabis pharmacology, and the latest medical research.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with frequent communication required with our nursing management team.
Reliable, responsive, and proficient with technology.
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
