With the expansion of their Australian operation, we are seeking a Medicare Specialist. This position offers an exciting opportunity for candidates who are looking to grow their career and be a part of a pivotal change within Adelaide.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Billing Medicare for eligible pathology tests and charging patients or institutions for non-Medicare eligible tests.Resolving client billing issues and managing accounts receivable delinquency while delivering excellent customer service.Collecting payments by due dates and handling collection efforts for overdue accounts.Identifying and addressing issues causing delinquency, collaborating with management to resolve them.Setting up and managing payment plans for accounts with collection issues.Preparing demand letters and coordinating with collection companies for delinquent accounts.To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
Extensive experience in Medicare billing, with strong coding knowledge and the ability to identify appropriate codes for various tests.Preferable experience in pathology.Significant experience with both Medicare and private billing, including managing rejected claims and resolving issues.Proficiency in billing software such as Medilink and PBRC.Strong skills in debt recovery and auditing, particularly within Medicare billing.Ability to establish and manage a Medicare billing function, ensuring compliance and handling it autonomously with minimal support.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex workloads in a new Medicare billing environment for pathology services.Outstanding communication skills for liaising with clinicians and patients.Comprehensive knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and coding, as well as Medicare compliance training and associated risks.Experience in managing accounts payable and receivable is a bonus.Tanya Murray is partnering with Fulgent Australia to recruit this exciting permanent opportunity.
