Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital In this role, you will provide a high standard of secretarial and administrative support to a group of private surgeons and visiting medical officers using the sessional suites.
We are seeking a permanent part-time, highly experienced professional who is driven to enhance efficiency and the overall experience of our patients, doctors and caregivers.
The Position Under the direction of the Outpatients & Performance Manager, provides a high level of secretarial and reception function to Consultants, Visiting Medical Officers (VMO's) and patients of the practice.
Ensures that all appropriate administrative processes are carried out to ensure that patients are adequately prepared for their outpatient appointments and/or in patient hospitalisation.
Practice communication – phone, reception, correspondence and patient information.
Operating list administration for private patients – scheduling, and liaising with hospital staff and other personnel.
Medical billing and related administration for a variety of Medical Practitioners.
Organising / booking referrals i.e.
xray, ultrasound, CT scanning, MRI, other consultants.
Maintain accurate records of sessional overruns, supplies and services used by each doctor.
You will have previous medical secretary experience in a specialist practice, strong knowledge of medical terminology, working knowledge of software applications including Genie or similar and an intermediate to advanced level of Microsoft Office skills including word, outlook and excel.
To succeed you will have a highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer service skills and the ability to organise work priorities and meet deadlines.
Having the ability and commitment to working in a team environment to enhance efficiency, quality and overall patient, doctor and caregiver experience is vital.
