The Role: We are looking for an experienced Medical Scientist to join the Respiratory Services team in Alice Springs.
In this role, you will manage the delivery of evidence-based respiratory diagnostics, including Pulmonary Function Testing and potentially Sleep Studies Testing.
As the sole operator of the Lung Function Laboratory, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide critical diagnostic services to both inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality Respiratory Diagnostic services, including Pulmonary Function Testing and Sleep Diagnostics.
Provide expert advice and guidance on respiratory science within a multidisciplinary framework.
Supervise, mentor, and educate staff and students in respiratory clinical practices.
Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives and research activities to enhance service delivery.
Manage a high-volume, complex workload independently, ensuring health outcomes are met.
Promote a positive workplace culture through leadership and role modeling.
About You: The successful candidate will have: A relevant tertiary qualification in science or applied science with a focus on physiology or biological sciences.
Extensive postgraduate experience in delivering high-level clinical Respiratory Diagnostic services and potentially Sleep Diagnostics.
Strong awareness and understanding of working with culturally diverse communities.
Proven experience in clinical leadership and supervision, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
A commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
Postgraduate qualifications in clinical education, leadership, or a relevant specialty area.
Other Requirements: The successful applicant will need to hold or obtain a current Working with Children Clearance and undergo a criminal history check.
