As a Scientist - Anatomical Pathology at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in delivering efficient and effective diagnostic services.
Your responsibilities will include performing routine and complex diagnostic testing, applying scientific knowledge to troubleshoot procedures, and contributing to the dissection of a variety of surgical and biopsy tissue specimens in accordance with NPAAC guidelines.
In this dynamic position, you will also play a key role in maintaining quality assurance, supporting NATA accreditation processes, and providing training to pathologists and staff.

About You We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled professional with a passion for delivering excellence in Anatomical Pathology.
To excel in this role, you will bring: Technical Expertise and Proficiency : Demonstrated ability to perform histopathological techniques, including grossing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and specialised procedures such as immunohistochemistry and frozen sectioning.
Strong Organisational and Problem-Solving Skills : Proven ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, troubleshoot laboratory equipment, and ensure high-quality testing according to established protocols.
Relevant Experience and Knowledge : Extensive experience in histopathology, quality assurance, ISO and NATA accreditation requirements, and the use of specialised software applications within a medical laboratory setting.
Excellent Communication and Teamwork Abilities : High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team, provide customer-focused service, and maintain confidentiality in a professional manner.
