About the department This role is based in Echuca, a border town based 3 hours north of Melbourne on the Murray River.
It is a growing regional center with excellent facilities, good schools and sporting clubs.
The role is a 9-day fortnight with a requirement to support evenings, On Call and weekend workload.
The Pathology department is committed to promoting the highest levels of sample results for our patients.
We support our local health care facility, Echuca Regional Health as well as our point of care site at Cohuna and the general public through our outpatient collection center.
We are part of the Austin Health network which has recently undergone a regional expansion into the Lodden-Mallee region which includes laboratories in Mildura, Swan Hill and Shepparton as well as Echuca.
About the role This role is to provide support for the existing Laboratory Manager.
Applicants will need to have the ability to provide a range of technical knowledge across our core disciplines of haematology, biochemistry and transfusion.Ideally a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.A good knowledge of NATA and NPAAC requirements and help to maintain compliance with these and the Austin quality system would be essential.About you Ideally someone who has excellent communication skills, administration skills and attention to detail.
You'll bring energy and drive to your work, ability to cope under pressure and troubleshoot any issues that may arise and have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
