NTPS - Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service is the only standalone Public Pathology service operating in the Northern regions of Tasmania.
We are a category GX multidisciplinary laboratory and the Microbiology department performs a wide array of testing.
This role will be based at LGH and the successful applicant is required to undertake duties in all areas of the department as requested by immediate line manager. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing team and also contribute to innovative changes that seek to transform the workflow processes in the department.
The role: Contribute to the provision of effective pathology services. Under general guidance from the Scientist in Charge, perform professional work in one or more sections of the Pathology Department. Perform normal professional work and complex or critical laboratory work under professional supervision. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working in a Microbiology laboratory. Details of Appointment Permanent, part time, shift-worker position working 38hours per fortnight, commencing from 27 May 2024

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary:$71,441 - $107,878pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance withAllied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022 Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Tertiary qualification/program of study in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Science or Applied Science or equivalent suitable to the position from a recognised institution
Eligible for membership with a relevant professional body such as Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists, Australasian Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, The Australian Society for Microbiology, Human Genetics Society of Australasia or the Australian Society of Cytology
Where these is no relevant professional body, the essential qualification must be met
