Where do you want to go?NSW portfolioOphthalmology portfolio12 month contract/secondment roleWe have an opportunity to join our Medical Affairs team as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for the Ophthalmology portfolio covering Australia; specifically New South Wales. This role will see you act as a scientific expert and liaise between Bayer and the medical community through the discussion of scientific data.
Do something that moves you.You will establish long-term scientific/strategic relationships with key physicians/scientists and with related major diagnostic providers, medical associations and academic centres of excellence to ensure Thought Leaders (TLs) and organizations have access to relevant scientific information.
This is a highly collaborative scientific role that requires you to engage with Thought Leaders on a peer-to-peer level and contribute to the development of strategic business plans in consultation with Medical Affairs and appropriate cross-functional partners. You will be responsible for the successful implementation of Medical Affairs Strategies at the field level.
Establish mutually beneficial relationships with Thought Leaders in OphthalmologyDrive awareness of our products and relevant diagnostic modalities through dissemination and discussion of scientific and clinical dataIdentify, develop and leverage the Australian network to accelerate and connect therapy for patientsAnswer medical / scientific queries of Medical Societies and HCPs with regards to Bayer products in concert with the Medical Information teamContribute to organization of advisory boards, and organise/co-organise medical educational events directed to Medical Ophthalmology professionalsAttend congresses and conventions with the aim to learn new scientific/clinical data and to engage with Thought LeadersGather competitive intelligence to inform brand strategyPlan and organise scientific training and education events / sessions with TLs within their specific therapeutic area or productAct as a point of contact for investigators, facilitating the interface with investigators and appropriate Bayer personnel responsible for approval, and communication of study progress and completionProvide assistance to Medical Advisors and Market Access by supporting presentations of new information to hospital formularies and reimbursementSupport brand strategy by providing assistance to Marketing colleagues (field insights and education on scientific data)Does this sound like you?Advanced degree in relevant science-related field eg. PhD, MD, PharmD, is essential.Strong understanding of Ophthalmology diagnostics testing is required.Previous experience engaging with KOLs/TLs is preferred.It will be highly advantageous to have a strong understanding of clinical research (trial design, conduct, and data interpretation) and strong statistical skills and ability to extract insights from data.You will have excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting scientific data and academic /scientific writing.You have strong interpersonal and organizational skills with thorough attention to detail ensuring timely follow-through and closure with Thought Leaders, fellow MSL and other internal stakeholders.You have strong business acumen and a strategic mindset with demonstrated leadership capabilities.Be You @ BayerWe are committed to creating a culture where people can be their best, in an environment that values inclusion, diversity and flexibility.
