Where you'll be workingRadiation Oncology, Royal North Shore Hospital - Sydney AustraliaWhat you'll be doing The Medical Physics Specialist will provide the medical physics services required by external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy treatments with minimal supervision of their professional practice.
The Medical Physics Specialist will also be involved in education, training, quality improvement, radiation safety, research and development.
The Medical Physics Specialist will initiate improvements in the standard of the department's physics service and cancer care provided, have good communication and practical skills, to work as part of a team and to readily interact with patients receiving cancer treatment as essential general qualities.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Certification awarded by ACPSEM in radiation oncology medical physics and ability to satisfy NSW Medical Physicists Award.
Clinical medical physics experience in advanced radiotherapy practise and imaging.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and to initiate quality improvements.
A demonstrated high level of oral, written communication and associated interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated project development and execution within set timeframes.
Demonstrated computer literacy.
