Level 1 range from $262,376 - $323,777 pa plus superannuation and salary packaging.THE ROLE:The purpose of the Early Phase Clinical Trial Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology is to provide management and treatment for patients on early phase clinical trials at the Calvary Mater Newcastle within the scope of practice granted by Hunter New England Health.
The role will include oversight and coordination of the Medical Oncology early phase trial program.
It will also include admitting, consultative, diagnostic, and procedural, outpatient and on-call speciality services and any other services as may be determined and required by the Department of Medical Oncology.We currently have two positions available; both of these roles will be on a three-year fixed term contract with the opportunity to extend.DUTIES:Strategically lead and develop the early phase clinical trial capabilities of the Medical Oncology Department through close interaction with treating staff specialists, clinical trial teams, sponsor representatives, and nursing.Provide high quality, evidence based, protocol mandated, clinical care of patients enrolled on Early Phase Trials.Work with Sponsors, Clinical Research Organisations, Health Services and funding bodies to make our unit a preferred site for conducting Early Phase Trials.Additionally, the Staff Specialist is required to assist with Departmental duties, including but not limited to:The provision of high quality supervision of Advanced Trainees, Nurses and clinical trial staffProportional assistance with the Medical Oncology on call rosterLeading research relevant to your interestsInvolvement in teaching and educational opportunitiesABOUT YOU:A primary medical degree registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Medical Oncology, as provided for the NSW (Non-Declared) AHO Staff Specialist Agreement or the Health Insurance Act 1973.Training and experience in Medical Oncology recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.Training and experience in Clinical Trials and Research, with demonstrated experience in the clinical management of patients enrolled in Clinical Trials.Commitment to a multidisciplinary-multispecialty team approach to cancer care.Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development.GCP certificationAnalytical and problem solving skills with sound time-management skills and good attention to detail.Enthusiasm and strategic focus.HOW DO YOU APPLY?Click 'Apply for Job' and follow the prompts.
