The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance was formed on July 1, 2003 as a partnership between Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital.

The Listowel Memorial Hospital has been providing acute care and complex continuing care services to the residents of North Perth and the hospital's catchment area since 1919.
Our fully accredited hospital offers a wide range of primary and secondary services including 24-hour emergency services, in-patient and out-patient care, specialist clinics, and supportive diagnostic services.
The Hospital has an active staff of 10 Family Practitioners as well as several consultant staff.

Hospital services include: Emergency, Operating Rooms, Diagnostic and Ambulatory Care Units (December 2007)Maternal/Newborn UnitDiabetes/Nutrition CounselingSpeech-LanguagePhysiotherapyBreast Health CentreFully integrated electronic patient health record with Family Health Team and Physician offices. The Wingham and District Hospital is a modern, progressive acute care facility providing medical, surgical, obstetrical, paediatric, chronic and rehabilitation bed and other services, including 24-hour emergency coverage.

Hospital services include: Emergency department with 24-hour on-call coverageRehabilitation department including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathologyMultiple outpatient specialist clinics held on a regular basis to provide local serviceAffiliation with London Regional Cancer Centre enabling chemotherapy treatment to be provided locallyMany community health related education programsFully integrated electronic patient health record with Family Health Team and Physician offices. Position: Medical Laboratory Technologist
Region: Huron and Perth
Description: To provide accurate and timely results to requests for diagnostic tests to physicians and other health care professionals to ensure patients have access to current best practices in health care.
Must work closely with other health care professionals.
Technologists are responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests, many of which are complex, involve numerous steps and techniques and require use of professional judgment.
Tests may be performed in one or more of the laboratory sections.
Professional application of the principles, laboratory theories and techniques of medical technology are used to produce reliable results that aid the physician in diagnosis and treatment.
The successful candidate will be available for all laboratory shifts days, including weekends and statutory holidays.
This position is available immediately.

Responsibilities: Collect and test specimens from in-patients, out patients, emergency and pre-operative patients.Report tested results accurately and in a timely way to aid in diagnosis and treatment.Order blood from CBS/SGH, process and cross match blood for transfusion.Ensure equipment is functioning properly and ready for next shift.Responsible and provide direction, mentor, correct and report on work of MLA.Active and cooperative participation in all quality control programs.Recording all readings, calculations and results on specimens, quality control material, standards and equipment in a manner conforming to good laboratory practice.Referral of reports to his/her supervisor and/or a Pathologist for final reporting where indicated by laboratory policy or good professional judgement. Qualifications: Successful completion of a medical laboratory technology program offered at an institution accredited by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) in Canada.Registration with College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).6 months to 1-year previous practical experience in a hospital core laboratory.Moderate physical effort.High degree of mental effort and analysis. Salary: $40.14 - $50.16 per hour
