To be successful you will be able to provide a base level of Immunology clinical service within Pathology Queensland which provides a comprehensive range of immunology reference laboratory and consultative services to clinicians to assist in the diagnosis and management of immunological conditions in patients throughout the State of Queensland.
The laboratory covers autoantibody testing, flow cytometry, HIV diagnostic testing and immune function studies.Job detailsPosition status: Fixed Term TemporaryPosition type: Full-timeOccupational group: Health - PathologyClassification: HP3Workplace Location:Job ad reference: QLD/PQ612634Closing date: 17-Jan-2025Yearly salary:Fortnightly salary: $3030.00 - $4453.50Total remuneration:Job duration: Fixed Term Temporary until 31st December 2025With increasing experience, apply independent scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.Make responsible and informed decisions to prioritise work according to test urgency and availability of instrumentation in collaboration with the team.Key competencies (role specific criteria)Knowledge and expertise in Immunology, at a minimum, obtained through relevant tertiary education, but increasing commensurate with experience.Ability to perform established methods and procedures, apply scientific judgement and develop the ability to undertake more complex tasks within an Immunology laboratory.Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both the immediate work team and broader environment and to communicate effectively.Demonstrated ability to participate in a single-discipline or multidisciplinary team under the clinical practice supervision of senior practitioners.Qualifications, registrations and other requirementsThe successful applicant must hold at least a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.Participate in the after-hours on-call roster and other shifts (eg Tue – Sat shift) as required.Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
