About the Pauline Gandel Women's Imaging Centre The Pauline Gandel Women's Imaging Centre provides a progressive, multi-disciplinary 24-hour service for general adult, paediatric and neonatal radiology referrals including a wide range of general radiography and mammographic diagnostic and interventional procedures. The team provides the following dedicated women's services:
Advanced breast imagingContrast Enhanced digital mammographyStereotactic breast biopsiesInterventional breast localisations (hook needle and magseed)About the role As an MIT you will provide a professional, caring, high quality imaging service to the women and neonates of the Women's (both inpatients and outpatients). Working as part of a small specialised group, you'll provide an effective and efficient imaging service guided by an embedded approach of patient-centered care and support of families that is empathetic, transparent, and professional.
Key responsibilities will see you: Perform high quality mammography, diagnostic procedures and specialised interventional tomosynthesis guided vacuum assisted biopsies, using professional judgement in accordance with prescribed best practice standards and evidence-based principles for the RWH.Manage breast image quality through contributing to the development of appropriate and evidence based breast imaging procedures; performing all required technical quality assurance activities, analyse data, implement strategies to address issues, in consultation with senior mammographers.Initiate, develop and implement quality improvement activities; take responsibility for all aspects of image quality including quality checking of images.Perform within other specialist imaging areas, such as general, mobile, DEXA and theatre.About you To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:
Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) or equivalent.Registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without restrictions and licensing with the Radiation Health Division.Demonstrated clinical imaging knowledge and skills in general imaging.Demonstrated performance excellence (with positive feedback) in patient- and family-centred care approach.Although mammographic experience is preferred, training can be offered to the successful candidate.Our benefits At the Women's you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about learning.
