Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy) Full time Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome. Our head office is based in Broome, and together we are focused on delivering economic and social benefits for the West Kimberley and its communities. We do this through living our values of Integrity, Accountability, Humility, Co-Creation and Inclusivity. About the RoleResiding in the West Kimberley and reporting to the Superintendent Health & Safety, this is an exciting opportunity for a Medical Emergency Services Officer to join our growing mining company.This role will play a pivotal role in providing site medical and emergency response services to ensure Thunderbird Operations adheres to our Mine Safety Management System. Site based roster: 8 days on, 6 days offKey ResponsibilitiesPromptly and effectively respond to minor or major incidents, offering medical assistance as requiredFacilitate and administer drug and alcohol testing inline with procedureOffer insights and recommendations for medical clearances for prospective or returning employees, aligned with site policies and proceduresProvide guidance and continuous support to on-site Emergency Response Team (ERT) Conduct internal audits and inspections of emergency response equipment to ensure appropriate maintenance, and optimal functionalityAbout YouHold a current WA C-Class driver's licenceTertiary qualification in Nursing or Paramedical ScienceCertificate III in Mine Emergency Response and RescueCertificate HLTPAT005 Collect Specimens for Drugs and Abuse TestingMinimum 3 years' experience in a similar medical emergency response position, in a mining environmentExcellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organisationStrong administration skills, ensuring information is recorded accurately and updated as requiredHigh level of attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience with INX would be advantageousAbout the BenefitsIn addition to joining our values focused team, you would also be eligible for the following benefits:Housing & Living Allowances5 weeks annual leave per annumRelocation support providedOur Commitment to Diversity & InclusionKMS is committed to advancing an inclusive and diverse workforce culture and environment where people feel comfortable to be themselves.
