Medical Director | Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (CCC or ACRW)Gold Coast Health is looking for a Staff Specialist who will hold a permanent substantive position with Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS) and will act as Medical Director of either the Continuing Care Community (CCC) or Acute Community and Registrar Workforce (ACRW) unit for the first 3 years.

About the role The Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist role provides clinical specialist psychiatry support to the Mental Health and Specialist Service, making a substantial contribution to the development of a culture of medical education and safe, effective patient centered clinical practice.
The Medical Director will manage either the CCC or ACRW service line which provides clinical care to patients and clinically manages on a day-to-day basis the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the delivery of appropriate patient care. In addition, the role provides professional leadership to the department and training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members.
Requirements for the role Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FRANZCP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and registrable as a Psychiatry specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Internationally trained candidates may require an acceptable Comparability Assessment undertaken by the appropriate Australian Specialist Medical College as part of the application process.Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.Strong clinical and teaching experience in psychiatry.The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster for Mental Health and Specialist Services.Senior Staff Specialists/Staff Specialists report operationally to the Medical Director of their relevant service line and professionally to the Executive Director of Medical Services and Clinical Governance.The Medical Director reports operationally to the Clinical Director of Mental Health and Specialist Services and professionally to the Executive Director of Medical Services, Clinical Governance and Research.Salary information Permanent full timeEstimated total remuneration up to $498,017 p.a., comprising:Senior Staff Specialist: Base salary from $251,527 - $266,677 p.aStaff Specialist: Base salary from $210,332 - $244,313 p.aUp to 12.75% employer superannuation contributionWork/life balance, variety and flexibilityHow to Apply Please click the Apply button to review the Role Description and submit your application utilising the Medical CV template provided by Saturday, 20 July 2024.
