Job DescriptionThe Medical Affairs Associate is responsible for providing medical and scientific capability to the organisation by providing medical/scientific expertise and leading the execution of medical strategies, to ensure the successful launch and lifecycle management of assigned AbbVie products.
This role will work closely with medical affairs colleagues and cross-functional teams.
NOTE: This role is Head Office based with a minimum of 20% infield activities.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Execute and implement medical tactical plans and strategies, including product launches and lifecycle management.
This includes facilitating tactical plan workshops and the creation and management of medical materials (ensuring scientific accuracy).Lead the gap assessment process and drive the delivery of local evidence generation activities in line with medical strategy.Establish and maintain professional and credible relationships with key thought leaders/external experts and academic centers; to deliver key projects from tactical plan.Develop and deliver medical education and training programs for internal teams, ensuring they are knowledgeable about product information and clinical data.Facilitate the communication of clinical data and scientific information to both internal and external stakeholders.
This will include organizing and leading journal clubs internally.Drive the interpretation and collection of data point observations, and present identified insights to cross-functional teams.
Communicate these to the medical leadership team by leading dashboard completion monthly.Ensure compliance with all applicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie's policies and procedures, and accepted standards of best practice.Ensure all business activities comply with the relevant Acts, legal demands, and ethical standards.Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie's policies and procedures.Proactively participate in AbbVie's WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.Adhere to AbbVie's internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.QualificationsMD, PharmD, or PhD in a relevant scientific field.1-3 years of experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or a related field within the pharmaceutical industry.Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory environment, and clinical research methodologies.Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with scientific databases and statistical tools.Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a team environment.Flexibility and Availability: In line with Australia's 'Right to Disconnect' legislation, we recognize and respect employees' right to refuse contact outside of their working hours, unless such refusal is deemed unreasonable.
