Medical Administration

We are seeking a Part-Time Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team for 3 to 4 days a week at our specialist medical clinic located in Southport. Our practice fosters a warm, collaborative environment with three dedicated doctors. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional people skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to multitask effectively.
Applicant Requirements:
- Prior experience in the medical or health sector.
- Proficiency in using Gentu or Genie practice management software and Medical-Objects. Ability to quickly adapt to new technology platforms if no prior experience.
- A proactive, efficient, and respectful communicator.
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Booking, managing, and scheduling patient appointments, including tracking follow-up visits, cancellations, and changes in availability.
- Handling emails, phone calls, and patient-related queries. Receiving, triaging, and monitoring daily correspondence such as patient results, referrals, reports, and information requests, and relaying important information to practitioners.
- Managing patient check-ins, processing payments, and booking follow-up appointments and investigations.
- Liaising with general practices, other health practitioners, and hospital staff.
- Processing payments, billing items, and lodging claims to Medicare, DVA, and other health funds.
- Typing letters and reports accurately and efficiently.
