Media Relations ManagerAn exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and suitably qualified individual in the full-time role of Media Relations Manager, based at our head office in Mascot, NSW.The ideal candidate will be a strong and confident communicator with excellent people skills, who will be able to facilitate all aspects of media relations.This position reports to the General Manager Corporate Services, or a designate.Position Responsibilities:Developing contacts and maintaining good and close professional relationships with relevant journalists specialized in the aviation industry across all media platforms.Maintaining and updating Rex list of media contacts.Monitoring media coverage and keeping the Board and MC informed of any coverage that may be relevant to Rex and immediately highlighting coverage that may require a response from Rex.Responsible for Group media phone and responding to media calls including those that are outside normal office hours.Coordinate the company crisis management responses (at any time including weekends and after/outside normal working hours), with direction from the Management Committee/Board, to minimize damage to the Rex brand equity during significant media crisis.Selection Criteria:Possess exceptional written and communications skills.Have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Be able to respond to after-hours calls and attend to any issues as required.A recent tertiary qualification in Media/Public Relations, Journalism and/or Communications is preferred, but not essential.Previous airline/aviation experience an advantage.Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.Good time management and organisation skills.Good knowledge of navigating various MS office applications and adept to learning new computer software.Conditions:Wage rates and conditions will be discussed with the successful applicant.To apply:Please submit applications with a copy of your CV and cover letter addressing the above criteria by close of business Friday, 15 March 2024.#J-18808-Ljbffr
