The role of the Media Officer is to assist with the development and delivery of a broad range of strategic media and communications activities to promote awareness of the QAS, the achievements of its staff and volunteers, and its relevant safety awareness messages.
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes: A sound knowledge of contemporary media and communications principles and practices with the proven ability to liaise effectively with media representatives and a range of internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated analytical and practical media skills, with the proven ability to contribute to the development of media and communications strategies across a range of media, including online.Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the proven ability to meet frequent, tight deadlines in the production of accurate and high-quality media releases, speeches, internal publications and online content.Demonstrated understanding of the concepts, principles and techniques required for the successful coordination of a promotional program.Well-developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work and collaborate effectively within a cohesive, multi-disciplinary team to meet organisational demands, as well as the ability to work independently if required.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
