As a Media Communications Officer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing community and stakeholder awareness of WorkSafe issues and the department's work. This position is responsible for acting as the key liaison between the department and news media, ensuring the timely and strategic coordination of media interviews and responses. The role involves managing and growing social media channels, developing content such as media statements, articles, and radio spots, and monitoring media coverage to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts. Additionally, the specialist provides support to the General Manager of Information and Stakeholder Engagement to ensure the delivery of high-quality media and communications advice while maintaining professional standards across all media activities.
