Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLE As an experienced and passionate communicator, Royal Far West's Media and Communications Manager will be a skilled writer with a keen eye for detail who can distil complex ideas into concise and engaging stories that connect with RFW's internal and external stakeholders. Royal Far West will be celebrating our 100 years of service in 2025 which will offer unique and exciting opportunities for the Media and Communications Manager to have a real impact.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Fundraising, they will have strong media contacts, professional acumen and be experienced in delivering communications to support marketing, fundraising and brand campaigns. Previous experience in the not-for-profit/charity space will be highly regarded.
This position is offered on a full time, fixed term basis to cover maternity leave from January 2025 until December 2025. Flexible work arrangements available.
As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, the role is best suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who can work autonomously, manage projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organisation.
This role will ensure RFW's media and communications activities are aligned with the Marketing Strategy and complement the organisation's strategic objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES Developing, implementing, and evaluating media and PR campaignsLeading the development of the Annual Report each yearCreating quality content in various formats to help promote RFW and advocate for the country children we support to our various audiences, including social media posts, web copy, blogs, reports, brochures, factsheets, and eDMsCreating engaging internal communications to keep RFW employees informed through a range of channels including EDMs, Intranet and other formatsSupporting stakeholders to develop proposals, award, and conference submissionsHelping to support fundraising campaigns and events when requiredDesired Skills and ExperienceA minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar roleTertiary qualifications in communication, marketing, or a related areaEngaging and professional communicator and relationship builderStrong copywriting with demonstrated skills in writing for social media and websitesAction driven, organised and able to manage multiple projects at one timeAbility to problem solve, work flexibly and collaboratively within a team environmentFluent in Meltwater or similar media monitoring service, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointEmpathy for children's health issuesExperience working within the not-for-profit, public health, community, or government sectorsUnderstanding of SEOExperience with Google Analytics, CRMs (e.g., Salesforce), Social Media Scheduling Tools (e.g., Hootsuite), CMS (e.g., WordPress) and Email Marketing applicationsABOUT OUR CULTURE Royal Far West is a rewarding, inspiring workplace which offers a diverse work experience.
