About Us
The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) Is responsible for protecting the South Australian community from the effects of fire, road crashes, chemical incidents and other emergencies. We are a team of approximately 1,300 operational personnel and corporate professionals serving the Community across 20 metropolitan and 17 regional fire stations.
About the role
The Media and Digital Officer contributes to the achievement and promotion of the MFS vision by providing a range of information and community engagement services. The role is responsible for managing all social media engagement and promotion of the MFS. It also includes the delivery of important aspects of public safety information in support of an incident management team during and after emergency incidents.
About you
Ability to communicate concisely, clearly, effectively and accurately with a diverse range of people, both orally and in writing
Proven ability to work collaboratively as a team member to achieve agreed goals
Ability to produce high quality work while adhering to tight deadlines
Proven ability to exercise discretion and judgment in handling sensitive issues
Strong liaison and communications skills in a public affairs environment, in particular media liaison
Extensive experience working in public relations, corporate communications, media or a journalist role
Well-developed writing, editing and graphic skills with experience in preparing media releases, speeches, briefs, articles, scripts, advertisements, publications, social media and web content, etc.
Experience in the use and application of a media monitoring service
Experience in social media and marketing concepts to promote and educate the public.
Remuneration: ASO5 $85,790 - $95,413
