In this senior role, you'll shape and implement media initiatives to support Council objectives. You'll manage daily media interactions and build strong relationships with media outlets. Your expertise will help foster a media-savvy culture and guide the CEO, mayor, and councillors.
Key responsibilities Create and execute media strategies aligned with Council priorities. Build and maintain effective media relationships. Respond to media inquiries and draft press releases. Monitor news coverage and coach Council staff on best practices. Identify trends to inform advocacy efforts and work closely with internal clients to craft strategic communication plans. About you You are an experienced media relations professional with a strong sense of political awareness and the ability to simplify complex topics. Your background includes managing media inquiries, developing strategic communication plans, and speechwriting. With exceptional interpersonal skills, you excel at building solid relationships with senior leaders and media contacts. Self-motivated and detail-oriented, you thrive in fast-paced environments and handle tight deadlines with ease.
