The Media & Communications Advisor will bring skills, knowledge and experience in digital media storytelling to the MACS Comms team to help build MACS' brand awareness and engagement. This role is expected to actively contribute to team strategic and tactical decision-making and creative development and be a heavy lifter in delivery. Reporting to the Brand & Creative Services Manager, with a dotted line to the GM Strategic Communications & Engagement, the appointee will source and deliver authentic story content from across the MACS network, lead MACS' proactive media relations, researching issues, developing briefs and media pitches, and manage media inquiries, responses and approvals.
You are an ambitious, energetic and high-achieving professional with loads of initiative and excellent written, oral, video production and digital media publishing skills. Highly personable and known for your ability to build relationships and contacts, your background in journalism or other relevant roles has equipped you with a nuanced understanding of what makes a story newsworthy and how to generate media interest. You demonstrate a relevant depth of critical and analytical thinking and issues management capability and thrive in fast-paced environments operating under tight deadlines. With a strong collaborative work ethic, sense of humour, and highly collaborative style, you're regarded as a positive contributor to team culture and success.

The successful candidate must hold or acquire, and maintain a Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and/or Working with Children Check, and must be willing to obtain and maintain a National Criminal History Check.
