Immediate start Melbourne CBD location Your new role Statutory Authority seeks an experienced Media and Communications Advisor for full-time, ongoing position within the Media and Communications department based in Melbourne CBD.
As a Media and Communications Advisor, you will manage and deliver content and strategic communications advice across various channels to inform and increase engagement.
The role has a strong writing and analysis aspect and plays a significant role in the management of government relations, media relevant operational incidents, coordinates the development and delivery of the Annual Report, and supports the implementation of the organisation's Strategic Communications Strategy.
This role requires capacity and capability to work on a shift basis and participate on a rotating on-call media officer roster.
Key responsibilities project coordinate the Annual Report and analyse and draft content for the report.
providing insights, identify data points and draft narratives which support the organisation's Strategic Plan 2022-2032. engaging with subject matter experts and drafting content to assist them to articulate the performance of their area of the organisation.
coordinating the Government Relations function within the Strategic Communications Department.
This will include drafting Ministerial Briefings, correspondence, preparing possible parliamentary questions and contributing to reports being shared across Government.
administering and documenting workflow for review and approval, while taking feedback from stakeholders and updating content.
engaging with stakeholders, coordinate, obtain required approvals and facilitate delivery of communications content to timelines.
managing media response during business hours and on-call after hours on a shared rotating shift basis.
Attending media opportunities and deploy to incidents to provide media support as directed.
Key Selection Criteria 5+ years' experience in a Media Relations and/or Communications role.
Demonstrated knowledge of government processes and experience working within the public section will be highly regarded.
Demonstrable experience in producing high quality communications collateral i.e.
drafting Ministerial Briefings, correspondence, preparing parliamentary questions and contributing to reports.
Demonstrated experience in media relations role/s and producing collateral including media releases, briefings and background material Demonstrated track record in developing proactive and issues based content to achieve desired outcomes Demonstrated experience in developing social media content and moderating channels.
Experience working as a team member on long-term major community-based programs including development of key partner relationships desirable.
Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Communications A current driver's licence will be required Candidates must comply with being triple COVID-19 vaccinated Please Note: Successful candidates must be available to provide communications advice and on-call duties on a rotating roster basis, including after hours and weekend work as required.
