The Security Officer will support the organisation's efforts to maintain a secure IT environment by assisting in monitoring, investigating, and addressing security-related issues. Reporting to the Security and Compliance Manager, this role involves handling day-to-day security operations including investigating security alerts, troubleshooting tickets related to security platforms, and acting as the first point of contact for MedHealth staff to provide support related to security.
Job Description Monitor security alerts, review and triage security tickets, and escalate issues as necessary. Assist in investigating and resolving security incidents in collaboration with the IT and service teams. Support the implementation of security controls, tools, and processes across the organisation. Provide support across a variety of security products including email security, endpoint protection, and web filtering. Act as a point of contact for security-related inquiries from staff and other departments. Contribute to maintaining and updating documentation for security policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assist with both scheduled and unscheduled security assurance activities to test the effectiveness of security controls (e.g. internal audits, security control testing, incident response exercises). Qualifications Appropriate degree and/or industry qualifications and certifications. A foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, tools, and best practices. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Ability to prioritise tasks and work collaboratively in a team environment. Basic knowledge of security platforms, firewalls, antivirus software, or other security systems is an advantage. Suitable experience including at least 1 year in an IT role is a plus but not required. Additional Information You are welcome here.
