More About the Role at AQUILA As a Mechatronics Engineering Intern, you will be vital in developing Aquila's world-first optical power transfer technology, contributing to our mission to power the future by building and operating an infinitely scalable energy network.
Your focus will be on creating reliable, precise, fast test equipment to validate our subsystems, directly advancing our R&D efforts.
You'll be deeply involved in the entire process, from conceptualisation to testing, and will own your project throughout the internship.
Responsibilities: - Collaborating with our engineering team to develop innovative test systems and tools.
- Driving an entire project end-to-end, from design through to implementation and testing.
- Working across multiple disciplines—mechanical, electronics, and software—tackling diverse engineering challenges.
- Assisting in developing test infrastructure to accelerate our R&D efforts.
Requirements: - Solid fundamentals and a strong ability to quickly learn new skills.
- Experience with C/C++ in embedded environments and high-level programming languages like Python, Go, or Rust.
- Familiarity with CAD (Onshape is a plus), PCB design, and mechanical design for actuated systems.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping techniques like 3D printing and laser cutting.
An eagerness to contribute in a dynamic startup environment, bringing creative solutions to novel challenges.
