The Mechanical Technician is accountable for the maintenance, service and repair of fixed plant and equipment in accordance with standards and procedures at the TiO2 refinery.
Duties responsible for include: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
Carrying out standard and complex maintenance testing procedures on a broad range of plant equipment.
Performing maintenance activities, covering; fault finding, installation, maintenance and repair of plant and equipment, as required across site.
Ability to interpret / read P&ID's and piping specifications.
Monitoring operating equipment to detect potential problems.
Completing daily / weekly and shutdown maintenance of plant and equipment.
About You: To be successful in this role you will have: The highest regard for safe work practices.
A Mechanical trade qualification (Fitter / Machinist) Methodical approach / attention to detail Ability to be flexible / decisive.
The ability to work independently or as part of a cohesive, multi-trade maintenance team.
Previous experience in maintaining complex fixed plant in accordance with strict engineering and safety standards.
A demonstrable passion for continuous improvement would be highly desirable.
SAP Knowledge desirable but not essential.
