Are you interested in Engines and Fluids? Well, we are hiring for a Mechanical Technician to support the production team to ensure the smooth running of the manufacturing department. They will document and communicate across all stakeholders in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space policies and procedures.

Perform work accurately and to a high standard, according to drawings, procedures, specifications, and test instructionsPrepare, set up, assemble, test, and integrate development and flight equipment, structures and hardwareModification, repair, assembly, and installation of the rocket structures.Perform post-test operations and inspections to ensure flight worthy hardwareUse precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometres, and callipersFabricate, repair, and assemble hardware/equipment neededDevelop novel ways site wide to streamline processes and increase the reliability of operationsHandle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved mannerHands on operations with both large and small fragile assembliesUse various equipment and mechanical tools without instructionCollaborate with engineers to develop and document activitiesEnsure all services are performed on time, safely, and in a professional mannerPerform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environmentOperate and maintain hardware, high pressure systems and pumps, and other ancillary equipment including pneumatic componentsEvaluate and understand engineering (CAD) drawings and models, verifying dimensions and ensure implementation according to specificationsEvaluate and understand engineering specifications, verifying application and ensuring implementationEnsure all parts are properly aligned and fitted in accordance with specifications • Ensure quality control standards are adhered to at all timesCoordinate with team members in solving technical problems as they ariseTo communicate with all managers and team members to ensure positive working relationships and adherence to the daily operational requirementAbility to accommodate work at both the manufacturing site and Bowen Orbital SpaceportAbility to off-hours work, as necessary, during certain build phasesOther duties as required by ManagementMandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 3+ years of experience in the Aerospace, Manufacturing, Marine or Automotive IndustryNV1 Security Clearance eligible preferredDesired Qualifications, Skills and Experience We recognise you may not meet all of the below, but don't let that deter you.
