Mechanical Technician

NES Fircroft has partnered with a Gladstone Hydrogen Systems team who are driving innovation in green energy, and they're looking for a motivated Mechanical Technician to join their dynamic Product Development team. Play a vital role in operating and maintaining cutting-edge hydrogen gas process plants, contributing to groundbreaking developments in renewable hydrogen production.
Key Responsibilities: Operate and monitor hydrogen gas process plants via SCADA, ensuring safe, efficient performance.Execute routine and unplanned maintenance, troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Perform small bore tubing and flange management, supporting plant integrity and efficiency.Collaborate with engineering teams to optimise processes and provide operational feedback.Maintain detailed records, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and participate in risk assessments.What They're Looking For: Experience: 5 years in hazardous process environments (e.g., oil & gas, power generation).Qualifications: Cert III Mechanical Trade (or equivalent), small bore tube fitting expertise, and gas process plant operational knowledge.Skills: SCADA familiarity, strong troubleshooting ability, and knowledge of flange management.Attributes: Proactive, safety-focused, team-oriented, and adept at interpreting P&IDs and process diagrams.Desirable Skills & Training: Gas Test Atmospheres, First Aid, and Confined Space certifications.Experience with purging and O2-free startups, as well as fire rescue training.Offering: 6 Month contractRotating roster$700 - $900 / day superPotential for extension or transition to permanentApply now or reach out for more information at
