The role of the Mechanical Technician (maintenance execution) is to be responsible for the safe, efficient and cost-effective repair and maintenance of fixed plant and equipment.
Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off

In This Role You Will:Provide effective, directive leadership in shutdowns and adhere to deadlinesAssist planning team to optimise planned maintenance and minimise the impact of unplanned maintenance.Ensure contractors working on site are compliant with site safety and equipment policies.Assist in providing improvement for systems and processes to maximise equipment reliabilityMaintain, overhaul, and change out Pumps, Pipes, Conveyors, Mills, Crushers, Screens, Gearboxes, refrigeration plant, vent fans and associated mining fixed plant infrastructure etc.Undertake shift work (roster basis) surface and undergroundObtaining the required plant / equipment / site tickets to perform duties in the plant.Assist in developing maintenance procedures, policies, standards, work instructions, SOPs.Assist in implementing maintenance strategies.Being involved in resolving plant reliability issues.Demonstrate a high level of personal safety commitment by modelling the desired behaviours.About You:Safety orientated with sound OH&S knowledge.Proven experience assessing equipment failures.Ability to achieve results in limited time frames (decision maker).Industrial processing experience within a continuous operation.Experience using CMMS, EAM, ERP solutions.Gathers and exchanges information and ideas with collaboration.Ability to develop trust and confidence within a team.You are able to manage difficulties to achieve positive outcomes.Experienced in equipment failure analysis and 'Root Cause Analysis'.Exposure to equipment circuits and systems such as Crushers, conveyors, Slurry and water pumping systems.About Our Process:At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
