The Ensham operation consists of a highly productive UG bord & pillar mine and an open cut mine that is now a major rehabilitation project, with current production levels of 4 million tonnes per annum. Ensham has been a valued contributor to the Emerald community since 1993.
Join our team at Ensham as a Mechanical Supervisor (Underground Workshop) in a newly created role.
How you will contribute: The business requires a Mechanical Supervisor (Underground Workshop) who can lead, plan, organise, manage, and control the shift and weekly mechanical maintenance activities and other project activities of the underground workshop. The role reports to the Diesel Equipment Coordinator.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Demonstrated Underground Coal experience in a supervisory or similar role. Provide specialist mechanical knowledge to ensure continuing operation of the diesel fleet and associated implements to ensure compliance with requirements of the Ensham Safety and Health Management System and Coal Mining legislation. Utilise the SAP maintenance system in raising and closing work orders. Identify and order spare parts as required. Supporting the production department by providing reliable, well maintained diesel equipment / implements. Apply the SHMS procedures and site engineering standards. Ensuring risk management systems and procedures are followed to achieve mechanical statutory compliance. Supporting the maintenance team to safely deliver the mechanical engineering department objectives. Contributing to strategies to minimise the mechanical costs and maximise equipment availability of the underground diesel equipment fleet / implements. What we're looking for: Trade Qualifications (mechanical) and / or relevant engineering degree Minimum 3 years' experience with underground coal mining operations & equipment in a supervisory or similar role Total commitment to the mine safety initiatives & work practices Ability to work within and across diverse workgroups.
