About the Role
• Permanent Supervisor opportunity at Jimblebar Iron Ore mine
• 8/6, 7/7 FIFO roster from Perth (days & nights)
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our Jimblebar Fixed Plant Maintenance Mechanical team.
This role will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and stable fixed plant asset performance.
Supervising a diverse group of mechanical maintenance technicians whilst executing fixed plant maintenance activities.
In this key role you have the ability to positively influence BHP's direct business outcomes, being at the end of one of the most profitable & productive supply chains across Australia.
Your ability to lead by example, be proactive and prioritise safety will be critical to your success.
In addition, you will play a key role by:
Demonstrating and instilling an overriding commitment to health, safety & environment through active field leadership, reviewing and identifying hazards and supporting the team Safety Representative.
Setting and clearly communicating targets and expectations.
Managing capacity and demand within the team to ensure scheduled plans get executed within the required time frame.
Reviewing and executing the Fixed Plant Maintenance Mechanical work plan.
Safely and systematically working through break down events with your team and customers with minimal downtime to the fixed plant.
Ensuring a strong improvement mindset that focuses on safety and maintenance tasks.
Having a working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations (S26).
Conducting Investigations and Root Cause Analysis for safety or significant downtime events.
Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and properly recorded in SAP with subsequent notifications captured.
Reviewing and monitoring maintenance performance on a daily and weekly basis with an analytical lens to ensure we are identifying gaps or improvements.
Driving team performance and high standards with business operating discipline, respectful behaviours and team culture.
Supervising the execution of Fixed Plant Maintenance Mechanical work (Planned & Break In).
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
Fixed Plant Mechanical Trade Qualification (Mechanical or Boilermaker) - highly desirable.
Proven track record of a high level of safety leadership as well as interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience in preventing repeat downtime events.
Proven technical experience within maintenance in a mining business with exposure to shutdowns – highly desirable.
Systems focus to ensure preventative maintenance is completed to a high standard.
Ability to lead a team effectively and drive performance.
Experience in the execution, project management and planning fields highly advantageous.
Ability to work within a team and develop relationships.
Minimum of C class driver's licence.
Ability to encourage diversity in our teams.
